Another of our workshops have included a paper cutting and manipulation exercise, also a group exercise to create a large scale piece because this enables us to inspire eachother and learn new techniques from eachother. This is a workshop we suggested ourselves, i personally have always admired intricate paper cutting techniques and i made a powerpoint presentation full of images to show my class to inspire us all πŸ™‚

from looking at these images we armed ourselves with craft knives and paper and began to create pieces of paper cutting and then sticking them up in a group composition, we experimented with hanging them on fishing line but this did not do the pieces justice, we made several compositions before deciding upon one. below are the progress images from the activity:

this is how it looks finished on the wall πŸ™‚ we focused on using organic shapes to inspire us for this piece, most of mine look like a combination between a jellyfish and an onion!IMG_9633 IMG_9635 IMG_9636 IMG_9639
